dating advice for shy guys

Don't be fooled by all those over confident ladies men walking around. Dating can be just as intimidating for them as it is for the shyest person. Just trying to approach an interesting woman you can be overcome with thoughts of rejection, extreme discomfort, sweaty palms and the whole bit. Every socially open event has great opportunities to strike up a conversation with a pretty woman and with the right advice you can find yourself engaged in a wonderful dating scene with charming and intriguing women who find you irresistible.
The secret that the other guys know that gets the girl is really quite simple. There is no tricks or schemes but good strategy. The best dating advice to start with especially for shy guys is to choose a target rich environment. If you are going to clubs and bars, you are just limiting your chances as soon as you walk through the door. These places are very dark and crowded. So, if you can not see your potential date in the dark how are you going to get a good connection. Besides, these places are also filled with other guys with the same agenda. Your competition is even greater with so many people packed in a small venue. What you need is to go to a more relaxed environment where you feel more comfortable and less intimidated by the surroundings. Check out the open food market, festivals and fairs, the gym or hobby groups. It is more likely that you will find someone you have interests in common and something you know about too. Not only will your competition will be minimized but it will be a lot easier to have a decent conversation. Then you can start by getting your potential date attention by asking a friendly non-invasive question or comment. Just starting with a hello can make all the difference.
Even for the shy guy, as soon as you get a woman attention all of the sudden the art of listening is lost. Particularly if you are nervous, a lot of people will start chattering away so as to keep her engaged and keep her attention. Yet this can be one of the biggest mistakes that a guy can make to get the girl. Listening can sometimes be a helpful approach for shy guys. Being engaged in a conversation is one thing but you also have to listen to what she is saying to you. Be interested in her and the conversation says to her that this guy really cares. If you have ever been nervous in the past about what you talked about in the past put in out of your head. It is all about responsive attention to what you hear, so if she mentions her work, then you can kindly ask her about it. This keeps the conversation flowing and will impress her by your attentive listening skills.
Girls do it and so can you. There is no disgrace in bringing along a friend or two. Single girls tend to walk in packs, so you can bring a pack too for support. We all do this to boost our nerves, get encouragement and be more confident. Meeting in groups can also be more fun and work to your advantage. It shows off that you have good friends and a very sociable person open to new encounters.

Outgoing girl dating shy guy?
I have this guy friend that I've become interested in as more than friends. We get along very well and I enjoy spending time with him. He's pretty quiet, but not shy. If you talk to him, he opens up and is very funny. One thing that concerns me though is that he doesn't like to go out much, it takes a lot of convincing to get him to come out with us. I dont know if that would bother me in the future because I am very outgoing. Any advice on what I should do? Is this a good match?

The Shy Single: A Bold Guide to Dating for the Less-Than-Bold Dater $3.98 Nearly 50 percent of adults in the United States describe themselves as chronically shy, and an even larger number are single. These numbers prove what we already know: There are a lot of us sitting home alone, letting the dating world pass us by. But it doesn't have to be that way In "The Shy Single," New York psychologist Bonnie Jacobson outlines her breakthrough program that helps shy men and women securely maneuver any social situation. At the heart of the book is her confidence-boosting plan for managing the three stages of a shyness attack A dating profile quiz, journaling exercises, cumulative courage-rating scores, and real testimonies from Dr. Jacobson's extraordinarily popular shyness workshops round out the "coach's corner" advice for shy daters on how to: - Work a room and get past awkward introductions - Participate in dinner conversations and bridge uncomfortable silences - Ask someone out - End a date gracefully - Handle sexual advances The aim of "The Shy Single" is not to make us un-shy, but to enable us to function despite our pounding hearts and sweaty palms. With small, manageable steps, we can gain self-assurance and learn how to finesse awkward or possibly embarrassing situations. Navigate a room with small talk? No problem. Ask out a coworker? No sweat. Make the first move in an intimate situation? You bet. From going online to declining a second date to determining whether we've found "the one," Dr. Jacobson shows us that dating happiness isn't just for other, more outgoing people--it's for us. |

Gun Shy $9.58 Starting off with the hyperactive pub rock sound of "Wild Blue Yonder," this is a great debut record. Taking its cues from punk rock, the Messiahs crank up the intensity with songs like "Smash the Marketplace" and the ominous "Let's Go Out to the Woods Tonight." If Gun-Shy stumbles, it's probably because it's a tad restrained (given the energy, volume, and power these guys generated live), as if it were assumed that audiences simply might not be able to handle it all at once. Still, that's a minor complaint. This record will knock you out. ~ John Dougan, Rovi Performers: Bill Carter - Guitar, Vocals; Chris Thompson - Bass; Kenneth Harris - Drums; Kenny Harris - Drums |

Scandalous Behavior: Advice on Dating for Women and Love Stories $23.55 I have hung out with girls all my life, who I think are more intelligent than men, and the only form of communication I had where I could learn anything of substance was from women. When you are always in the company of women, you always hear both sides of the real story, not the macho and overly exaggerated facts that men give. So really, in essence, women made me the womanizer that I became. I learned so much about women being around them on a constant basis. It's like a wolf among sheep. Women have an overwhelming desire to mother you or to think that they can mold you and try to change you into the imaginary man or husband that they really want, when most women themselves don't really know. That's the principal reason I wrote this novel. |
