I met a woman through online dating site and we were sending emails back and forth all day Sunday. On Monday morning I got the last one she sent the night before since I went to bed and I decided to send her my cell number since I wanted to get to know more about her. I of course said she could txt me or call or I could call or txt first if she rather me do that. I also said if she not comfortable with phone numbers yet then I understand and can email from the site till she does get comfortable. The thing is the dating site lets me know if she has read the email or not and she has already read the email and no response yet. How soon should I contact again and what should I say this time around. The first time we were emailing she seemed interested since she asked questions and answered my questions.

The one thing you should NOT do is continue to attempt to contact her over and over. This will only make you look bad and make her fearful of you. You said that you were sure that she read your email and got your number so there are a few possible reasons why she did not get back to you:

1) She is busy/occupied. This could be due to work, school, family issue etc. Give her time and she will appreciate it.

2) Sometimes women (and men) use online dating when they are on the rebound. It's possible that she got back together with an ex-boyfriend and is no longer interested. This has nothing to do with anything you've done. It happens.

Women are naturally apprehensive when meeting or talking to someone for the first time that they've met on a dating site and rightly so. There are people out there who do try to take advantage and that's unfortunate.

So my suggestion is to give her time, perhaps email once more after 2 weeks to just say 'what's up?' and leave it at that. I often forwarded these to friends to receive their input and from time to time shared them in a chat room. When I received any sort of response, I have shared them with you as well. As you read, please remember that with firewalls, system crashes and softwares that do not seem to work well together, email does not come through clearly at times. In addition, be reminded that much of what floats around there on the web is blatantly false. While it did appear that each was encrypted, software I had recently downloaded appeared to decrypt themessages.
